Completely random.

And the winner is…

I have finally joined Facebook…

April 27, 2010 at 4:53 PM (Uncategorized)

Yes, thats right, after months of procrastinating about joining as I knew it would be a lot of work and also because I know how addicted I can get to these social networking sites, I finally gave in and joined Facebook today.

Come on over and become a friend or whatever it is that we do over there, still figuring it all out just as they start to make changes, but hey, you gotta start somewhere. www.facebook.com/lafemmejewels

Wednesday Wish List

April 21, 2010 at 11:03 AM (Uncategorized)

I found this absolutely stunning clutch purse on thebudgetfashionista.com recently and I am so in love with it.  But of course, as it my luck it was sold out by the time I found it, LOL, typical, but on a good note, it did lead me to this fabulous store with heaps more of these gorgous clutches at very affordable prices, I think my wishlist here could be my next purchase, even though a different pattern. Toon Design

Next on my list is a DUSTer, Innerearthsoaps, who creates the most beautiful soaps with such luxurious ingredients, I am eyeing off her Cafe Vetiver soaps, I am a real coffee freak so the idea of washing with my favourite smell as a treat sound both delicous and invigorating at the same time. I love the smell of real coffee brewing don’t you, so imagine having that in your shower as well as your kitchen. mmmmm

Of course, as a jewellery designer, my wishlist always includes beautiful beads and these I am salivating about at the moment at gemalicious beads. I love the new range of eathy coloured sapphires out there, just gorgeous and they sparkle so beautifully.

Hope you enjoyed my Wednesday Wishlist, show me yours by adding a link to your wishlist posts below.

Cheers.

What do you Think?

March 25, 2010 at 5:54 PM (Uncategorized)

Well, for about the third time, I have revisited my packaging. A comment made by a fellow DUST team member (Down Under Street Team on Etsy) noting that she kept her packaging flat allowing her to post her items in the large letter category, keeping costs down as the Australia Parcel costs are ridiculous in reality for what you get.

So this time my aim was to find a way to package lightweight items in a more streamlined way, removing the boxes and replacing them so that I can offer free postage on all lightweight items every day, not just an occasional special.

All items will now be wrapped in tissue paper, placed in a decorated cardboard envelope, protected by bubble wrap and posted in an envelope.

The best part is the it will be completely FREE to all Australian customers and only a small fee charged to international customers.

So for the next month we are trialling our new packaging system with the aim of making it permanent. But first, I want to be sure that this is what the customers would want. To help us decide on implementing this idea permanently, we would love your opinion in our survey. Would you prefer FREE postage with minimal packaging or would you rather pay the extra and have the item packaged in a traditional heavier packaging.

Better late than never…

March 16, 2010 at 3:53 PM (Uncategorized)

In my recent newsletter I announced that we would be showing more of our new range and each week in March I would give away 1 piece of my new enamel range to a prize draw member and would announce this winner every Sunday on my blog. Well its now Tuesday and as you can see I am a little late and red-faced about it. But as I said, better late than never after all. So here you are, the next instalment in our enamel range and our first weekly winner.

We have recently added two new enamelled items and more to come, slower than expected but coming nonetheless.

Above is a double domed pendant of sterling discs enamelled inside the dome with a range of gorgeous colours available in graduating sizes and soldered to a sterling post.

Here we have a double layered necklace with a stunning tiny sparkling briolette and coordinating dome of enamelled sterling silver.

Our first weekly winner will receive a pair of our domed enamel earrings made using 1/2″ sterling silver domes and enamelled in your choice of mint green, sapphire blue, yellow, pink orchid or flame red.

The winner is Melissa L who joined in Dec 09. Email me at admin@lafemmeboutique.com.au to claim your prize.

Don’t forget, we have FREE shipping on all products, both in our webstore and in our Etsy store until the end of March to celebrate our new range. Just use the code Free Shipping at checkout.

Sneak Peak…

February 26, 2010 at 12:13 PM (Jewellery Designs, Uncategorized)

Here is a sneak peek of my new domed enamel range.

These earrings are created with ½ inch sterling silver domes set on handmade ear wires soldered to the dome so there is no movement of the dome keeping the lovely enamel colours on the forefront. The enamel is only on the inside of the dome allowing a rim of silver to show giving a great contrast between the silver and the enamel colours. These earrings will be available in a range of gorgeous colours and are only a taste of what is to come in the following weeks in my upcoming range.

To celebrate my new range I will be offering free shipping for all of March so watch for our launch online at www.lafemmeboutique.com.au.

During the launch we will be giving away one item each week in march from our new range, so join our monthly prize draw as you could be the proud owner of a free pair of earrings a necklace or even a bracelet.

Enjoy!

New Year, New Look

February 17, 2010 at 8:35 AM (Uncategorized)

Welcome to 2010.

It’s amazing how fast this year has gone already. This year promises to be a great one for me and La Femme Boutique. 2009 my husband was transferred with his job so in December we packed up our belongings and said goodbye to sunny QLD and moved to the never stopping Sydney. I said goodbye to my part-time job and have chosen to take the time in our new move to focus purely on the business.
In 2009 I spent a lot of time training as a silversmith and 2010 I will be adding a whole new range of great handmade silver jewellery.
I have also recently discovered enamelling and I love it. It is a fantastic way to add colour and interest to jewellery and you will be seeing a lot more of these techniques in the coming months.
2010 will also see a new look and name change, although not until mid year. We have a new site design coming which I am very excited about and a new name which will be closer to my heart and more personal.

So keep watching!
